Riyadh's airport operations remain suspended after Houthi strikes caused fires and casualties, prompting coalition retaliation across Yemen.

Flight operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remain suspended following a second consecutive day of projectile strikes that triggered a terminal fire. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree warned international airlines and travellers that Saudi airspace has become a "theatre of operations," explicitly excepting only the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Reports regarding casualties differ significantly. Local officials stated that at least 12 people were killed and over 300 injured. Conversely, Saudi civil aviation authorities reported three fatalities and 36 injuries across strikes in both Riyadh and Abha.

US President Donald Trump described the offensive as "not acceptable." In response to the escalation, the Saudi-led coalition initiated retaliatory airstrikes targeting more than 80 Houthi military positions across Yemen.
