Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a US-backed peace proposal for Gaza, maintaining forces will not withdraw until Hamas fully disarms.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly rejected a 15-point peace proposal for Gaza endorsed by US President Donald Trump, insisting Israeli forces will not pull back without the full disarmament of Hamas.

In televised remarks to his cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu stated that the Israeli military "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed" and confirmed the complete rejection of the document, which Hamas had accepted in late July.

The move highlights growing tension between Washington and Tel Aviv, even as Israeli military operations in Gaza have scaled back under American diplomatic pressure. Netanyahu faces political pressure ahead of Israel's general election on October 27, balancing demands from far-right coalition partners against relations with the White House.
