NATO intensifies drills near Kaliningrad as Russian strikes hit Kyiv

United States-led NATO forces have intensified maneuvers near Russia's Kaliningrad enclave, deploying American and Norwegian combat aircraft alongside Polish ground units. Alliance representatives described the operations as routine measures to strengthen collective defense capabilities. Concurrently, Baltic Air Policing units scrambled jets in Latvia, and Finland placed restrictions on transit along its eastern border.

The military activity coincides with a sixth straight day of Russian bombardments against Kyiv and its surrounding region, which killed four people and injured 15 others. Furthermore, an investigation published by British media revealed that Moscow has established ten secret launching locations close to NATO borders. The report indicated that these facilities are built for long-range suicide drones, with multiple sites currently operational in air raids against Ukrainian infrastructure.
