NATO conducts exercises near Kaliningrad amid ongoing strikes between Russia and Ukraine

US-led NATO forces recently carried out heightened maneuvers near Russia's Kaliningrad exclave, deploying American and Norwegian fighter jets, reconnaissance aircraft, and Polish ground troops. NATO officials described the operation as routine efforts to enhance the alliance's defensive posture.

The maneuvers follow revelations from an investigation citing ten covert Russian facilities established near NATO borders. These sites reportedly house launch pads for long-range kamikaze drones capable of targeting Western European locations.

Concurrently, military strikes between Russian and Ukrainian forces continued to intensify. A Russian ballistic missile barrage targeted Kyiv, killing at least two people and injuring six others, shortly after drone strikes hit an industrial facility in northern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces launched retaliatory drone strikes against Russia's Saratov region, resulting in reported injuries.
