Moscow has labeled Norway a security threat following NATO drills, while Ukrainian drone strikes target Russian oil infrastructure near Moscow.

Tensions between Russia and Northern Europe have heightened as Moscow targets Norway with severe rhetoric following recent NATO military exercises and the seizure of a Russian vessel. Kremlin officials accused Oslo of posing a threat to Russian security, prompting Norwegian leaders, including Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, to urge citizens to remain prepared without fear.

Simultaneously, Ukraine launched drone strikes against major oil facilities near Moscow, with Ukrainian officials claiming to have disrupted over half of Russia’s local refining capacity. Military analysts note that while Moscow possesses the resources to sustain its war in Ukraine, its strategic flexibility is diminishing as President Vladimir Putin assumes greater risks. European commentators emphasize that achieving lasting regional security will ultimately require a setback for Moscow's expansionist ambitions.
