Netanyahu stated that "Israel rejects" the document, declaring, "We did not agree to it. It is not our draft." He emphasized that Israeli troops will not withdraw from current positions until Hamas undergoes complete disarmament.
The rejection follows efforts by the U.S. Peace Council to reassure Israeli leadership that military withdrawal remains strictly conditional on Hamas surrendering its arsenal. Although Hamas reportedly accepted the U.S. draft, prospects for the peace initiative have deteriorated as military action escalated. According to local health authorities, recent Israeli bombardments killed at least 19 Palestinians across the enclave within 24 hours.
