Israel rejects US-backed Gaza peace plan as Netanyahu demands full Hamas disarmament

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point Gaza peace framework proposed by US President Donald Trump, declaring that military forces "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed." Speaking to his cabinet, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel refuses to accept the document, which Hamas had endorsed in late July.

The refusal signals an explicit rift with Washington, even as Israel's military has largely suspended major offensive operations in the territory under American pressure. Netanyahu's stance comes ahead of Israel's national election on October 27, as he balances demands from far-right coalition partners with maintaining relations with the White House.

Separately, Houthi militants claimed responsibility for strikes targeting Yemen's Mokha port and a Saudi Aramco facility.
