Israeli military forces have placed the West Bank city of Hebron under a full blockade and initiated house demolitions following a fatal attack on a military checkpoint. The operation began after two Palestinian gunmen opened fire on soldiers, killing two and injuring three others.
In response, the Israel Defense Forces ordered local residents to leave before deploying heavy machinery to demolish homes linked to the alleged attackers.
The Palestinian Authority's Foreign Ministry condemned the blockades, evictions, and demolitions, characterising them as "collective punishment." Palestinian officials called for international intervention, warning that the escalation will not bring security and will only heighten tensions in the region.
