Iran and Oman advance talks on the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. embassies issue regional warnings, while Russian strikes hit Kherson and a vessel sinks in the Black Sea.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that talks between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz are in their final stage. The diplomatic push follows U.S. President Donald Trump's pause on a planned military strike against Iran. However, several U.S. embassies across the Middle East advised citizens to prepare for departure due to potential "unforeseen escalation."

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, local officials reported that Russian air strikes on the Kherson region killed a 54-year-old woman and left 18 people injured. In the Black Sea, Alexey Likhachev, head of Russia's Rosatom state nuclear company, stated that Ukrainian sea drones sank the civilian container ship Janjina in international waters, adding that all 17 crew members were rescued.
