Indonesian airports close following Anak Krakatoa volcanic eruption

Indonesian authorities have suspended operations at several key airports, including Jakarta's main international hub, following an eruption at Mt. Anak Krakatoa.
An eruption at Mt. Anak Krakatoa has forced Indonesian authorities to suspend operations at multiple airports due to volcanic ash clouds. Among the impacted facilities is Jakarta’s primary hub, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, alongside several regional transport hubs.
Reports on the full scale of the closures vary, with some sources citing six affected airports while others report eight closures, including Halim, Bandung, and Radin. According to transport officials, the shutdown stranded approximately 150,000 passengers and grounded over 460 flights, including dozens of international services. Geologists noted that the latest eruption activity is currently not expected to trigger a tsunami.
