Heavy Russian strikes kill dozens across Ukraine as Moscow claims eastern gains

A series of heavy Russian drone and ballistic missile strikes across several Ukrainian regions has left at least 25 people dead and dozens more injured.

In the Kyiv area, local officials reported at least 17 fatalities and widespread destruction after overnight bombardments ignited multiple fires. Farther south, attacks hit the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions, with Ukrainian authorities confirming five deaths in Dnipropetrovsk, including three killed in a drone strike on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih.

Meanwhile, Moscow announced that its forces captured the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukrainian military reports acknowledged severe combat along the front lines but did not confirm the Russian territorial advances.
