Heavy cross-border strikes hit Kyiv and Krasnodar overnight, leaving dozens dead as both Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of targeting civilians.

Overnight cross-border escalation between Ukraine and Russia resulted in severe casualties and mutual accusations of deliberate attacks against civilians. Russian ballistic missile strikes targeted Kyiv and the surrounding region, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens across several districts, including Bucha.

Concurrently, Ukrainian bombardments hit Russia's southern Krasnodar region, resulting in 11 deaths. Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev described the barrage as a "deliberate strike by the Kyiv regime against the civilian population." Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned Russian forces following footage showing a remotely piloted drone pursuing a civilian in Kherson.

In separate diplomatic developments, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that active negotiations between Washington and Tehran are currently underway.
