European authorities arrest a Swedish gang figure in Spain and sentence a Norwegian recruit in the UK amid ongoing violent crime across the continent.

European law enforcement continues to counter cross-border violent crime and youth recruitment by organized gangs. In Spain, police in Alicante arrested a 22-year-old Swedish national suspected of directing violent gang attacks in Sweden. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson commended the bilateral operation.

Concurrently, a British court sentenced an 18-year-old Norwegian man to 20 years in prison after he was recruited online via the Foxtrot network to carry out a contract crime in Manchester.

In separate incidents, Spanish authorities in Madrid are investigating a targeted shooting that wounded a known offender in Puente de Vallecas. Additionally, in northeastern France, a suspected murder-suicide left four family members dead, including two young children.
