Search and rescue efforts continue in Colombia after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the western region, with reported death tolls rising above 160.

Rescue teams in western Colombia continue searching for survivors following a magnitude 7.4 earthquake centered near San José del Palmar on August 10. The tremor, which was also felt in neighboring Ecuador, caused widespread structural damage and led Colombian authorities to declare a national state of emergency to expedite emergency operations and military assistance.

Reported death tolls continue to fluctuate across news outlets. Moldova1 reports at least 164 fatalities, while Digi24 and Ziarul de Gardă cite at least 132 dead and more than 500 injured. Initial reports from Adevărul and HotNews registered lower casualty counts. Emergency crews warn the casualty figure could rise further as search operations clear rubble from collapsed buildings.
