Former Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte concluded his testimony before the parliamentary COVID-19 inquiry commission, delivering an extensive defense of his administration's pandemic response.

During the hearing at Palazzo San Macuto, which extended over several hours following parliamentary delays, Conte maintained that all emergency decrees and containment measures were lawful. Rejecting accusations from the governing coalition, the Five Star Movement leader stated he had nothing to hide and cautioned lawmakers against turning the investigation into a political tribunal. Conte also confirmed submitting an anonymous dossier to Rome prosecutors regarding potential counterfeit masks tied to a 100-million-euro contract with JC Electronics, urging judicial authorities to review the transaction.
