CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an unannounced visit to Moscow to establish direct communication lines and warn against overthrowing Ukraine's government.

Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe has conducted an unannounced visit to Moscow aimed at establishing direct communication channels with Russian officials and mitigating the risk of nuclear escalation.

According to intelligence reports, the intelligence chief sought to convey explicit boundaries to Kremlin leadership regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Specifically, Washington warned Moscow against attempting to dismantle the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or pursuing the total military conquest of the country.

The covert mission reflects ongoing efforts by the United States to maintain strategic stability and enforce critical red lines at a time when conventional diplomatic interactions between the two nations remain severely restricted.
