Bulgarian defence officials link downed drone to model used by Ukraine

Bulgaria's Ministry of Defence has stated that the unmanned aerial vehicle that crashed in northeastern Bulgaria over the weekend matches a model commonly operated by Ukrainian armed forces.

Authorities in Sofia clarified that current findings show no evidence Bulgarian territory was deliberately targeted. The drone came down in the vicinity of a natural gas pipeline, resulting in no reported casualties or structural damage to regional infrastructure. Military technical experts are continuing their investigation into the wreckage to establish the exact flight path, operational origin, and reasons behind the crash. National authorities are coordinating with regional allies as the technical assessment concludes.
