Amber weather warnings issued as Storm Boelo hits Scotland and northern UK

Severe weather warnings are in place across Scotland and the northern UK as Storm Boelo brings wind gusts up to 80mph and forces rail line closures.
The Met Office has issued amber weather warnings across Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, and northern England as Storm Boelo brings heavy rain and wind gusts reaching up to 80 mph in exposed coastal areas. Following closely behind Storm Austen, the second named storm of the season is causing widespread travel disruption.
Rail operators in Scotland announced speed restrictions and the closure of key lines starting Saturday evening, including routes serving Oban, Mallaig, and Kyle of Lochalsh. Ferry services and outdoor events have also faced cancellations across affected regions. The 24-hour amber alert remains in force through Sunday evening, with forecasters warning of potential flooding and structural damage.
